Meet Our Founder
President, Center for Brain Health
Founder/President, Youthful Aging Home Health Care
When Nicci Kobritz founded Youthful Aging 20 years ago, her goal was to bring a higher level of specialization and care to private duty home health. As a geriatric expert, she has spent the last three decades developing and managing health care programs and services
Kobritz knows that improving quality of life in people with dementia involves more than day-to-day care—it requires research-based methods to maintain cognitive function. In 2012, she co-founded The Sci-Brain program with Michael Mullan, MD, PhD, a leading Alzheimer’s expert and founder of the world-renowned Roskamp Institute. Sci-Brain offers a scientifically validated therapeutic approach to improve brain health and preserve mental function, which Youthful Aging is proud to offer its clients. Sci-Brain has since been renamed the Center for Brain Health
Previously, Nicci founded Expanded Child Health Services, a rural pediatric clinic that the American Academy of Pediatrics selected as a national model. She also developed a state model for hospital-based child neglect programs, and served in the cabinet of former Governor John R. McKernan Jr. as Director of Community Services.
Kobritz holds a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from St. Joseph’s College in Maine, a nursing degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University at Syracuse, and nurse practitioner certification from the University of Maine. She has chaired the health care industry unit of the United Way of Sarasota County, and she is a contributor to the industry journal, Home Health Care Management & Practice.
